Aside from my year-long experience student teaching at Memorial Parkway Junior High, I've made it a point to seek out education related positions as my part-time jobs. I knew I wanted to be a teacher since I was in the 3rd grade, but I didn't start learning more about it until my position at Kumon Learning Center, which I started in high school.My interest in teaching only increased throughout my initial degree. After graduating, I knew I had to go back to get my teaching certificate. My interest was always in teaching math to middle school kids. Everyone thought I was crazy, but it just felt right. I hope to continue to challenge myself through new experiences and try new teaching methods with the help of my colleagues and students. I want my students to leave my classroom at the end of the year having learned it's okay to make mistakes and that success comes from growth.
