About Dr. Rijil Thomas

I currently work as a Postdoctoral Researcher at AMO GmbH working on Integrated Photonics for Neuromorphic Computing and on-chip light sources. I have a strong passion for photonics and nanophotonics. I am also interested in quantum technologies. I am a Ph.D. graduate from school of EEE, NTU, Singapore. I have experience in Plasmonics, Nanophotonics, Numerical Modeling on Lumerical (MODE, FDTD, INTERCONNECT) and COMSOL (FEM), Programming (C++, MATLAB, Python), Photonics Circuit Layouting (Nazca Python), Electronics, and Signal Processing. I also have industrial experience as a process integration engineer for Silicon Photonics devices.I am confident of working on multidisciplinary projects with quick adaptability. I see myself as a team worker and a self-driven person keen on learning new technology and improving my skills. I have experience in tutoring undergraduates and mentoring their projects. Additionally, I also have experience in mentoring PhD students and supporting their research.I wish to continue my research career in developing photonics technologies.
