I worked at the supercritical carbon dioxide Brayton cycle test loop facility at the Interdisciplinary Center for Energy Resesarch at IISc for a year after graduating from college. My work there revolved around building and validating mathematical models of various aspects of the mechanical behavior of high-speed rotating machines. My work in this role included:- Developing a semi-analytical method to predict whirl instability in non-uniform flexible rotors- Building a performance model for a class of gyroscopic stabilizers- Developing and validating a design formula to calculate the effect of thermal and centrifugal effects on slipping in interference-fit rotors- Characterizing the nonlinear behavior of gas-film-lubricated thrust bearings and their effect on whirl instability- Writing a tool to calculate insulation strip shapes for bent pipes

The Technical Coordinator is in charge of managing audio equipment, communicating with repair professionals and sound engineers, and providing audio-related tech support for club members.Since much of my time in this role was during lockdown, most of what I did was to teach club members how to get clean recordings with good signal-to-noise, low room reverb, etc. using equipment they had at hand (smartphones, earphone mics).I also:- Did music and video production- Was involved in the organization and teaching of a music theory workshop, and- Drafted an "intro to live music performance" booklet for new members.

I worked at this internship the summer after my first year at BIT Mesra.I had two major assignments.The first assigment was designing a bottle-cap that included means to penetrate the hermetic seal on a coconut water bottle.The other involved testing, and designing a custom tray for, a new workflow associated with preparing and feeding drink pouches into the filling machine.
