Störningsjouren is a service operating in Gothenburg that helps individuals and organizations deal with noise disturbances, such as loud parties, music or construction noise. In my previous position, I had a supervisory role with 14 direct reports spread over nine local offices in six different counties operating within 105 municipalities. The budget responsibility amounted to just over SEK 40 million. My mission was to ensure the strategic focus on the organization's public affairs agenda and align our internal and external communication in order to achieve our targets and KPIs. I was also part of the management team reporting to the CEO.

I was responsible for the local public affairs business in Gothenburg, representing about 1000 residential and commercial property owners in the city. I advocated and represented the member's interests within city development, rent legislation, taxes and fees as well as environmental and energy issues.

I worked extra during the summers and during my studies. For some time I worked in the prison's security department with the more difficult clients. The work included planning and carrying out daily routines, transport missions and guard duty in trials and custody negotiations. The work was at times stressful, but I learned a lot about dealing with people in vulnerable and difficult situations.
