• Leading the Fiscal and Monetary Policy Branch which economic frameworks, analytical tools, modelling techniques and integrated data assets to economic and policy questions. • Collaborating across government to advise on: o The design and economic effects of fiscal policies in a broad range of areas including housing, migration, infrastructure, childcare, parental leave and tax reform. o Australia’s monetary and macro-prudential policy settings and financial market developments. o Australia’s past and future fiscal settings including the structural budget position, Australia’s fiscal stance, debt cycles and the government’s overarching fiscal strategy. • Establishing the Review of the Reserve Bank and leading the implementation of Review recommendations across multiple workstreams.

Supporting the Treasurer and Deputy Secretary at G20 Finance Ministers meetings. • Representing Australia in G20 Deputy and working group meetings, including negotiating the G20’s Covid-19 Action Plan and programs to extend debt relief to poor countries through the pandemic. • Building and maintaining relationships with offshore counterparts, and driving the Treasurer and the Treasury’s effective and influential engagement with North America, Europe, the UK and New Zealand. • Supporting strong governance and decision-making at the IMF and Multilateral Development Banks.

Leading NAB’s Australian economic analysis and forecasting function. This involved presenting to a wide range of clients, representing NAB in the media, providing strategic guidance to executive management, delivering high quality forecasts and research, producing the highly regarded NAB Business Surveys and leading and developing a team of senior and junior economists. A key focus was developing new economic indicators based on NAB's "big data". NAB was voted Number 1 for Macroeconomic Research in the KangaNews Fixed Income Research poll (May 2018).

I was an integral part of ANZ’s economic and markets research team for a period of almost 10 years, most recently as Co-head of Australian Economics. This involved meeting a large volume of deliverables (publications, forecasts, presentations), whilst simultaneously providing thought leadership, mentoring and directing junior staff members, guiding the team's workflow and research agenda and supporting ANZ's financial markets traders and markets sales teams.
