Gent En Omgeving, België
AIESEC (Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et commercials) is the world's largest youth-run organization developing the leadership potential of young people. Present in 128 countries and territories across 2600 universities, we provide students and recent graduates with life-changing experiences to intern or volunteer abroad within partner organizations. I joined AIESEC as a team member of the team incoming exchange, responsible for welcoming and integrating foreign interns in Belgium. Now I am Vice President of the team, responsible for organizing meetings, weekly executive board meeting, giving feedback, delegating and planning. In short my first leadership experience.Responsibilities:- Leading a team of 7 which is responsible for the matching of foreign students with Belgian companies offering internships. In liaison with these companies, we search for “the best fit” in the interest of the student, the company as well as AIESEC’s exchange program. - Taking care of all practical issues involved such as visa applications, housing, flights, welcoming events etc. For the moment, we have 9 current interns originating from Hong Kong, Mexico City, New York, etc. - Standardizing and improving the procedure dealing with the typical “high-frequency hand-overs” of responsibilities in student organizations. - Implementing an account management system for our internship recruitment program. After just a few weeks of being implemented, this resulted already in 1 internship extra. - Promotion and representing AIESEC on our campus. - Training of new team members.I happily invest +/- 10 hours a week in AIESEC.
