In this role I was responsible for the development and delivery of the community relations strategy for the Olympic Park and other east London competition venues including the North Greenwich Arena, Royal Artillery Barracks and Excel to ensure residents, businesses and local government stakeholders were well informed about how the Olympic and Paralympic Games would impact them.This involved: • Managing all communications activity to support the construction and deconstruction phases of the Olympic Park including a wide range of print and online publications; milestone events and community meetings.• Managing the community relations team including two direct reports and a number of external agencies to ensure effective delivery of the community relations strategy within a set budget.• Delivering effective issues management including management of press lines, stakeholder communications and community engagement

In this role I was responsible for:• Acting as the front face of the project and developing and implementing inclusive strategies for effective community relations throughout the construction of the Olympic Park in partnership with London Organising Committee, local authorities and other key stakeholders• Planning and executing large scale events for up to 200 guests within the Olympic Park including motivating and managing volunteers and suppliers • Representing the Olympic Delivery Authority at public meetings including delivering presentations within sensitive areas• Proactively managing relationships with the contractors across the Olympic Park, securing the buy in and support for the work of the community relations team• Content development and delivery of the Engage newsletters with a distribution of over 10,000 addresses, resident notifications and online content• Quickly and sensitively resolving issues raised by local residents on the 24 hour ODA Construction Hotline
