The VAS and data management teams within GM, works with all vehicle product commodities and I was part of the interiors team. My role consisted of maintaining the vehicle assembly structures within Teamcenter, following ECRs (engineering change requests) updating/adding variant conditions for parts or installation assemblies, and investigate and resolve math check issues. All this was to ensure true and accurate vehicle configuration in order to support Design and Engineering.Some tasks would take priority depending on the situation, if a vehicle sync point was coming and there are math issues for that I would concentrate on the interior issues ensuring they were resolved before the deadline. This position allowed me to connect and work cross-functionally with other designers and engineers in order to have consistent quality math data. With a lot of teams using the data we maintain in the VAS, we introduced learning sessions. This was to educate, spread awareness and increase effectiveness over time. After presenting these, I would assist colleagues with any questions or help they needed.

My role of Sales Account Executive, while related to sales, aimed to also give advice to the customer to show value over time. I perform inside sales on behalf of a Fortune 500 company. I connect with existing customers and recommend the best services and pricing based on their unique patterns. The overall objective is to bring value to the customer and have them agree to move their services exclusively with our client by understanding their needs and processes.Meet and exceed set KPIs from the client for outbound calls and sales. As I felt comfortable with the processes and systems quickly, I was able to assist with incoming trainees and ran team meetings which included gathering data for upper management.

Aerotek is the largest staffing agency in America and I moved into a recruiter role, concentrating on engineering within automotive OEMs. Our main clients were General Motors, Ford and FCA, and with that our main objective was finding the best, most qualified candidates. My method for this was sourcing different medias, both internal and external and networking with educational institutes.Throughout the sourcing and hiring process it was essential to maintain and grow the connection with the candidate. This was important as understanding their capabilities and interests would determine their success in the role and if they would enjoy and fulfill it. When done correctly it would give the best experience to both the candidate and client, this was very rewarding for me. With a strong relationship and showing the best candidates consistently, it would bring future opportunities from the client for the company.The culture was to help each other but overall the candidate, if we knew of a better suited role communicating that to the right team or recruiter was important. In this cross functional environment and with my background in software and interest in technology, I did this effectively as having candidates for multiple roles increased success.

Once my immigration and visa paperwork was all completed for my move to America, I was able to start my role within Rock Connections as a Resolution Specialist. Rock Connections is part of the Family of Companies with Quicken Loans (now Rocket Loans) and it was a vendor for many clients within customer services.The campaign I was placed on, was for BCN (Blue Care Network) within the Michigan area. With this role I would take inbound calls from doctors, nurses and health institutes and verify health benefits and eligibility for their patients. Due to the high level of sensitive information it was imperative HIPAA regulations were followed and understood when interacting with a client. I would also go through insurance claims related to the patients procedures to ensure the correct amounts were filed for the specific institute. Being brought up in England where healthcare is universally covered, it was a new challenge learning and understanding healthcare aspects in America. Overcoming this was a great teaching lesson in adversity for me, as the prospect of another culture and its healthcare systems/processes was daunting. After working 6 months in the role and having exceeded the set KPIs, I was promoted to Senior Resolution Specialist. The additional responsibilities from this included, assisting and mentoring teammates with less tenure, as well as running team meetings.

After taking some time to travel and work in the hospitality sector, I began my role as a Customer Experience Advocate with Trustpower. They are a power company, who also offer telecommunication services based in NZ and my role consisted of assisting customers with account enquiries. Taking in-bound phone calls, this would include payments, logging service/product issues, consultations of services/products and retention.Our calls would be recorded and from that a review with QA to further develop. We were measured mainly on giving out accurate information, while giving a great experience for the customer. I would meet and exceed KPIs set, related to call count, customers correctly assisted and documentation correctly inputted. Even though I was within customer services, we had the opportunity to sell phone and internet services and bundle it with their power plan. I was extremely proud to be the top seller on our team multiple times, as this showed I was able to excel in my team while learning new skills.

My role within the quality assurance team in GB Group involved following test cycles, performing regression, sanity and exploratory testing for the different identity systems developed and distributed by GB Group. I worked along side the development team to ensure any defects or issues were reported and tracked both within our test scripts and JIRA. On top of my testing duties, I started working with the business analysts, developing and producing the test scripts for our team and plans for future projects. Compiling reports at the end of each test cycle was another task I undertook for the respected parties such as project manager, QA manager and business analysts. I would perform and assist with demos of the different software for members within my QA team and business analysts too when ever this was needed.During my time in the QA team, I put forward a new defect management program for the team to utilize. The reason behind this was the process we had in place was not efficient and using a lot of man hours for the input of data. This program was taken by the QA manager and implemented by the team which increased productivity.

In 2012 I was successful in applying for a summer camp in the U.S for the following year. Here I was working with children and gaining an understanding of another culture, both through working and through the interaction with the American people. The experience was very fulfilling and rewarding that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Some of my responsibilities included: To lead, with at least another co-counsellor, a group of up to 14 children aged between 5-13. To maintain a safe playing environment for the children under my supervision.To schedule weekly activities and sports for the children. These included, Baseball, Football, Basketball, Swimming and Tennis. Help guide and develop children in the sports and activities they enjoyed.To adapt to a child's needs as their emotions could change suddenly.

For the short time working at Sony Playstation, I gathered a lot of knowledge relating to the processes and procedures in the First Party Quality Assurance department. My main role consisted of testing and analyzing software used for all PlayStation hardware. Ensuring no bugs or defects are encountered on either the software or hardware, and if any are - reporting them in defect management system (JIRA) accurately. The documentation of such defects needs to be clear when communicating them to development, as this kept the SDLF moving efficiently and avoided delays with first party releases.With my love and passion for the gaming world, working on First and Third party games from Sony Playstation was really rewarding and thrilling. Having the experience of what goes into just one small part of the gaming industry, had me excited at the future prospect of gaming and Playstation.I also returned to Playstation after completing my time working at a childrens' summer camp program in the USA, working from late August to October of 2013.
