Hello! I'm Ray Ikome, a second year undergraduate at Case Western Reserve University. Academically, I am double majoring in Mathematics & Computer Science (Theoretical Computer Science concentration) and double minoring in Statistics & Computer Engineering. Additionally, I am a Baker-Nord Humanities Scholar, a participant in the Weatherhead School of Management's Wall Street Trek, and engaged in an independent data science research project with six of my peers.In 2023, I interned at Integrated Community Services, a small community-based healthcare provider firm in my area. As the only intern in the tech field at the company in an IT department of two, I had an abundance of liberty to develop, test, iterate upon, and pitch software and IT solutions with measurable impact on employees, executives, and the community.I am also an incoming STEP intern at Google, on the YouTube TV team in Mountain View, CA. This is an opportunity that I am immensely grateful for and couldn't have even imagined being in when I wrote my first Windows shell script in third grade. I hope to meet and make as many connections with as many of the talented Google engineers as possible this summer.Outside of the classroom, I am part of the Undergraduate Student Government IT committee, where I help solve problems on campus using technology. I am also a member of Case Rocket Team, CWRU ChemE-Car Team, and Case Competitive Programming.I am passionate about building scalable, fast, and resilient software. I am most interested in work on performance-critical distributed systems-level software, machine-learning systems, and software used in quantitative finance. I am most proficient in C++ for systems & embedded development, Python for scripting & data analysis, JavaScript for full-stack web development & scripting, and am currently learning Rust for general-purpose development.
