Experience Design (BSSA-DXD) is Hyper Island’s Creative Industry training programme in collaboration with B Startup School Amsterdam.Through out the course students explore experience design and related fields such as service design and interaction design, understanding human behaviour, rigorous research, digital technologies, prototyping and project management.The course is designed with expert industry professionals and educators to support students in developing the skills, understanding, and knowledge needed for an advanced strategic understanding of project management, leadership, technology, design, creativity, effective team-working, and entrepreneurship.

During the internship I worked on an education project called 'InnovatieImpuls Onderwijs' during which I helped develop an app that functions as a marketplace for teachers where they can offer their knowledge and ask for help with a specific topic. I facilitated co-creation sessions, took on some tasks for the organisation of an event, and made some basic designs of the app and other tools needed during the project. In the social labs team I contributed to a project in Schiedam which explored what people need to happily grow old as a response to the shift of responsibility towards citizens themselves as a result of decentralization. I especially worked on the final presentation of the project, I helped to elaborate on how we could best present our results, maintained contact with media and made tools to present our findings. . Furthermore I helped to set up a new social lab in Amsterdam Nieuw-West which is mapping what nuisance means to people in the neighbourhood. I did preliminary research and talked to people in the neighbourhood to collect their story. Finally, I helped to organize a lab school week during which a team form Hong Kong came to the Netherlands to learn the specific social lab method of Kennisland. I interviewed individuals from the municipality of Nijmegen and Dordrecht who worked with Kennisland on different projects, to capture what impact the social lab method has on how they currently work.
