Marketed myself building up a clientele. Organizing appointments, creating pricing points, being personable, and making families and individuals feel comfortable behind the camera. I also have to be organized with downloading and backing up my photos along with editing and sending them off to clients.

In this position I work on titles geared specifically towards children and young adults. I design a variety of book formats while working with illustrators and previously established brands. In addition, I assist in creating original and existing brand support products in various stationery and specialty packaging formats for this group. Chronicle Books is a highly collaborative, team-oriented work environment that requires good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as an ability to multitask and take initiative. My position involves a wide range of responsibilities, of which the primary duties are to help support the in-house designers at various stages of the publishing process, from research to design to production.Some Responsibilities Include:* knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and Microsoft Word* Book covers/jackets, book interiors, gift products* Design, develop, refine, mock-up books and products* Work with production to ensure accurate product development* Present and discuss designs * Research creative talent* Scout art for book or gift projects* Typographic composition* Editorial text corrections* Maintain project dyelines according to our style guides* Scan, organize, log artwork* Work with production to color correct proofs* Assist in photographing product shots* Participate in departmental design critiques* Attend and participate in department and company meetings
