My primary task is to characterize the many different reservoirs in the thick, oil saturated Green River and Wasatch Formations of the Uintah Basin. Points of interest include the variable nature of lacustrine stratigraphy and the difficulties in determining effective porosity and Rw as both vary rapidly vertically and laterally in these mixed carbonate.

Billings, Montana Area

I work for the business development team in SM Energy's Rockies group, generating proposals/project recommendations that I present to management. This involves gathering well/seismic/academic data and using them to create petroleum system models with the final deliverables being SoPhiH, Sw, and Pay maps. I then work with our engineering staff to evaluate.

Greater Salt Lake City Area

I developed and received management approval for a seven year drill-out program in the Trail and Canyon Creek fields in the Sand Wash Basin. Previously the fields were classified as fully developed. My program has added an expected ~550 BCFGE to Questar’s development program.I also secured management approval for two exploratory wells in the Sugarloaf.

Exploration work using seismic and well data with emphasis in searching for bypassed pay.Development geology in the Arkoma Basin, following two rig lines, making formation top estimates, managing data distribution and making TD, cement and logging calls.

Taught geologic principles in a laboratory setting to undergraduate students.

Performed original research and co-authored papers in Geochemica and GSA Bulletin.

Mapped mine site, planned future excavations and developed mining plan.Coordinated product sales, managed personnel, operated front-end loader and dump truck, and oversaw installation and operation of a 30 ft diamond wire saw.
