The Brookstreet Hotel is a 267-room independent hotel located in Kanata North, which also has a full-service spa, two golf courses, mini-putt, three restaurants, a cafe, a gym, and pools. Currently, working in the hotel's reservation office where my main duties include:- Answering phone calls and emails, to assist with general inquiries regarding the property and other services we offer.- Responsible for helping customers book their hotel night stays, dinner reservations, golf tee times, and spa appointments.- Helps to manage and maintain guest profiles and data.

Ottawa Tourism is a non-for-profit organization works with members to focus on providing an amazing experience for citizens and tourists, through running events, promotions, events, and more. I worked within the Travel Trade department over the summer for my co-op. Over the summer, I was in charge of:- Assisted with the organizing, planning and running a variety of events for members and stakeholders. Including the annual stakeholder meeting. - Helping to update and maintain their internal database, especially focusing on their individual client pages. - Responsible to answering emails from clients, guests, and members - as well as be the main contact phone for those seeking information from the Travel Trade team.- Attend meetings and events as an employee of Ottawa Tourism.

ACTA is an organization that represents the "unified voice" of all Canadian travel agencies, providing information, counselling, and assistance to all of their members. One of my professors recommended me for this temporary position. My job was held during a busy window for ACTA, where they needed extra assistance.During my brief time with ACTA, my main focus was assisting with the data management of their internal data pool regarding their members and profiles, including adding new ones and updating existing ones.

I accepted this position at the beginning of my studies in the Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism program. However, I ended up leaving only after a month after receiving a job offer from my current job at the Brookstreet Hotel. My duties included:- Maintaining the store shelves within the convenient store/quick-service restaurant area of the college's residence buildings. - Providing friendly, efficient service to every student who came in for groceries or food. - Cooking and preparing food.

I worked for Census on a summer seasonal contract in the summer of 2021. My main tasks included:- Performing return to sender (RTS) data entry- Controlled documentation flow when working on envelope opening and questionnaire removal following first-in-first-out (FIFO) procedures- Cross-trained to work in Document Preparation on questionnaire grooming- In charge of inventory management including packing and tracking of questionnaires for final storage using Microsoft Excel- Responsible for receiving inventoryI was highly regarded by my peers and my boss as being very reliable, trustworthy, and a strong, consistent worker.

MINISO Canada is a retailer that creates high quality, award-winning designed products at affordable prices. While my official title was Assistant Store Manager, I was the acting Store Manager for our location, as we did not have one at our store.During my time at Miniso, my main job was to supervise and manage a small team of 4-7 employees, while ensuring smooth operations within our store. Other tasks I was responsible for included:- Interviewing, hiring, training and providing orientation to all new staff for both the Bayshore and Rideau Centre locations. Including the set-up, beginning preparations and creation of both stores.- Creating work schedules, designing floor plans, attending weekly office meetings.- Inventory management, receiving shipment, doing merchandising, working on cash and assisting customers.- Providing constant communication with the Area Manager, head office and the other Ottawa location.- Performed monthly KPI meetings with each staff member I was responsible for.- Ensuring guest satisfaction through providing friendly customer service and helping customers when they had complaints or complications.I was recognized for my work ethic and the strength of my team, on numerous occasions by head office and my Area Manager. Joey's Urban (known now as StrEATs) is a fast-casual restaurant from the brand of Joey's Seafood, with the focus on fish, tacos and poutines. I was in charge of supervising a small team of 3-5 people at a time. My main tasks included opening and closing the store, balancing the cash register and filing daily paperwork. I was heavily relied on by my boss to assist with tough decisions and decisions involving our restaurant. Furthermore, I was also in charge of preparing and cooking food for the customers, serving the customers, and assisting them with any of their needs. I also was in charge of maintaining a clean and healthy restaurant.

I was in charge of running the kitchen during McDonald's overnight shift. My main duties included:- Preparing and cooking the food for all the orders during the night, as well as the morning.- Counting and maintaining stock/inventory levels.- Training new staff members- Various manager and maintenance crew tasks upon request
