First and foremost, I have a passion for efficiency. It may sound strange, but nothing catches my attention more than systems and organizations that operate smoothly. Equally, I am never more aggravated than when dealing with unnecessary delays or complications. Accordingly, I've always been a group leader and organizer all throughout my schooling, and it was this tendency that led me to peruse a career in supply chain management. Over the summer of 2016, I had the good fortune to work as a general intern at ADCom Solutions in Norcross Georgia. There I worked with both the marketing and information management departments to aid in their shift over to the Office 365 system, as well as help revise existing procedures to fit the new system. The following summer, that of 2017, I like to think I worked on my management skills as an assistant counselor at Imagine That Summer Camps. There I tried my honest best to aid the primary counselors with teaching over thirty elementary age campers the basics of coding logic. The summer of 2019, I worked in the Chicago suburbs in PeaPod Online Groceries's primary distribution warehouse. I worked as a warehouse associate, focusing mainly on same-day order fulfillment. Over that summer I gained practical warehouse and inventory experience, as well as training with pallet jacks and RF scanners.During the Height of the Covid-19 pandemic, I worked a supply chain and warehousing internship for Iron Box Power Cabling in Raleigh NC. There I was trusted to complete a full and independent review of the company's warehousing operations. I tracked key performance indicators, interviewed employees, and experienced every stage of the company's warehousing and light manufacturing activities. At the end of the summer I presented my findings to company leadership, and I am proud to say, many of my recommendations would go on to be implemented. My final experiences before graduating college were two industry projects where I got to closely collaborate with Penske Truck Leasing and Shaw Flooring on real company initiatives, focusing on expansion and the S&OP process respectively. In both cases I worked with excellent teams, and presented our findings to company leadership after months of work. These experiences, as well as my own enthusiasm, inform my studies in supply chain management and continue to provide practical examples of the topics and concepts about which I have learned about in college. I'm eager to take on greater responsibilities as I continue to advance towards a productive future in supply chain management.
