Johns Lyng Group is an insurance builder, and so in this role I facilitated the repair of homes and businesses from the Central Coast all the way to the QLD border.It involved procuring and booking trades, constant communication with owners, time management and developing project plans, monthly costs and forecasting projections, and problem solving.

In this role I worked largely in support of the building supervisors. I would receive a job scope and separate the items into various groups, and procure quotes for a number of different trades in order to get the best price. Once complete, I would then generate both purchase orders and subcontracts to be sent out so that work can begin.Many of these jobs also required me to obtain council approvals and certification. Additionally, a notable job that I assisted on in this role was the repair of Lismore Toyota.

This role involved bulk construction of both custom and spec homes. As an estimator, we were given a set of plans, and then completed material takeoffs, BOQ generation, electrical plans, sent purchase orders to trades, invoice processing, and also continuing support to the site supervisors throughout the build.A notable achievement in this role was completing material takeoffs, creating spec sheets and generating orders for nearly 200 homes in a retired living estate.

Because of this, Summer was the busy period and so I worked full time Summers and part time the rest of the year.General skills of this role were picking and packing orders, processing orders in the system, and creating delivery dockets for them to be shipped.As supervisor of the "WAVE" team, I over saw a staff of around 6-10 members, and we specialised in delivering sets of repeated packs for individual schools (100's of students at a time)
