Riley McDowell is a final year student at Griffith University where he studies a Bachelor in Sport Development. He has always shown a deep and loving passion for sports and physical activity playing any sport he could get his hands on from a young age. Which has translated perfectly in his maturity to his career in the Sporting & Athlete Development Industry. He has a long history as a grassroots athlete playing Aussie Rules footy for the better part of 16+ years as-well-as other sports such as basketball and Athletics. Along the journey gaining experiences in playing, coaching, officiating and managerial roles. Which has helped shape his leadership, teamwork, communication and critical judgement skills.Through Riley’s history of playing and several unfortunate injuries he’s moved away from pursuing a playing career in the sporting industry and has now transitioned into working in youth and athlete development. Passing on knowledge and using the transferable skills he’s picked up from going through high levels of sport. Riley wants to encourage and help young athletes achieve their potential and be successful athletes.Having worked with AFL Queensland and the Gold Coast Suns Riley has already showed his enact ability to run sessions with highly touted athletes. He’s a disciplined individual who strives to get the best out of others and loves to see those around him succeed.
