My name is Riley Wickens and I am currently about to start my sophomore year in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. I am currently majoring in Marketing and Professional Sales, while also minoring in Media and Creative Advertising. Throughout my high school career, I was inducted into the National Honor Society and completed 4 years in the Venture Program for high ability students. I was a member of the Environmental Club, Ozone Spirit Club, Senior Dragon Leader, as well as volunteering at the local food pantry. I played varsity volleyball as well as club volleyball and travel softball. I earned academic all-state honors (volleyball) during my senior year, as well as graduating with the Magna Cum Laude honor. I was selected to participate in the One Southern Indiana Nexgen Leadership Program with other high school students in the community where we learned about business and civic organizations in our area. We also successfully led several projects for less fortunate members of Clark and Floyd counties. Aside from school-related activities, I worked part-time as an e-commerce team member at Kroger grocery store, as well as lifeguarding at the local pool. While I have listed many important accomplishments, my most important accomplishment came from my job as a lifeguard. During my sophomore year of high school, I successfully saved the life of a 7-year-old girl. This event altered my life tremendously and helped me learn that I have a purpose, no matter how big or small. These activities have provided me with numerous opportunities to grow my leadership, communication, dependability, and hardworking skills, which I have now forwarded into my college career as well. I am currently a member of the IUDM Entertainment Committee, Gamma Phi Beta sorority, and have participated in intramural sports on campus. I am incredibly passionate about all the work I do and strive to complete it with perfection. I take charge and act as a dependable leader, while also keeping an open mind to new ideas to flourish creativity. I hope to utilize both my creative and leadership skills in my future career, where I can grow my experiences and be a tremendous asset.
