I have volunteered with a variety of ages, from infant to young adult. Currently, I co-lead the Young Adults Ministry at my church. In my role I plan out the upcoming year, find activities, organize a retreat, and develop question-based discussions. This position has allowed me to develop my skills as a healthy communicator and team member. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone by loosening my grip when things don’t go according to plan. For a few years I have been coordinating church-wide events, as well, such as a Valentine’s Dinner, Harvest Festival, and Christmas Open House. While each event’s itinerary is different, I must still find game and food ideas for a large group of people, align the event with the mission and vision of the church, delegate tasks to volunteers, and provide an enticing and welcoming atmosphere. Once each event comes to an end the team and I debrief for any changes we may need to make in the future or even what we will keep the same.I currently work at California Virtual Academies (CAVA) where I am constantly learning new skills through a variety of projects. I look forward to more opportunities that expand my skill set and knowledge. When I’m not working or volunteering I love traveling to new places. I’ve been to Ireland, Italy, Croatia, France, Spain, and the Caribbean. I hope to continue exploring new adventures all around the world.
