About Riley Dolan
I am an experienced political and community organizer, with a particular focus on Gen Z and rural America. I am seeking consulting or speaking opportunities to guide your campaign or organization on how to authentically engage with young people and rural populations to: • Win difficult elections and initiatives• Pass meaningful legislation• Amplify and empower grassroots organizingI do this by applying effective data and utilizing innovative digital, management, training, communications, and organizing tactics. My career started on my family's fruit and nut farm, which I worked on since I was a kid, learning the value of hard work and about the issues facing rural America. Growing up, I also witnessed instances of bigotry and discrimination in my rural hometown, so in 2020 I co-founded Onalaska Equity, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing racial justice and educational equity.I have been a campaign consultant and featured speaker at various conferences and events on how to authentically engage with Gen Z and rural America. I've worked in many progressive political roles, including leading an organization funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to organize Gen Z students to pass numerous bills in Washington state, which made higher education more affordable and equitable for all. This issue is personal for me, since I grew up in a low-income family and lost over $26,000 in state and federal aid due to poorly conceived public policy. Luckily, due to policy passed in 2019 that I provided testimony on and organized for, students no longer face this issue.I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Pacific Lutheran University with a double major in Political Science and Hispanic Studies and a minor in Nonprofit Leadership. In addition, I have been awarded prestigious fellowship opportunities at the University of Oxford, Carnegie Mellon University, and Renew U.S. Campaign Manager Training. I was also a Fulbright scholar (Teaching/Research) in Cobán, Guatemala. In college, I honed my communication skills by writing and producing for four years the variety TV show Late Knight, which was nominated for two NW Emmy awards. I also proved my organizing abilities by coordinating voter registration on campus, in which I won Governor Inslee's statewide competition by registering the highest percentage of students in the state to vote. I am a strong believer in assisting the next generation of leaders, so I am happy to connect with others to share resources and give advice on how to apply for jobs, scholarships, and fellowships or how to start your own nonprofit.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Research, Customer Service, Public Speaking, and 48 others.
