Through the Innovate for Maine program I work as an intern software developer for a small startup company called Fwego. Responsibilities include researching potential APIs, evaluating their compatibility with existing systems, and developing integration solutions. Collaborating with the development team to implement these APIs, ensuring they function correctly and efficiently within the platform. Testing and debugging to resolve any issues that arise during the integration process. Gain valuable hands-on experience in API integration, system architecture, and problem-solving within a dynamic development environment, contributing significantly to the enhancement of the platform.

Creating, in collaboration with another developer, a C++ application that enables a user to create a vibrotactile graphic for IOS devices via an interface, providing further accessibility for visually impaired IOS device users. Create, run, and analyze the results of our research experiment during “Rapid Research Week.” Currently, in the process of writing and publishing a report on our findings where we determine the impact of 'cute' versus 'neutral' imagery on learning and information retention.

Manages the University of Maine Student Government (UMSG) website & is heading a solo project to completely overhaul it. Update executives and the General Student Senate on changes that’re made or upcoming, as well as collaborate on projects. Responsible for the recording of UMSG activities, such as General Student Senate meetings. Revamped UMSG’s Active List of Student Clubs and Organizations page, generating 2800+ views within 90 days. Promote further student involvement within student government by enabling the livestreaming of meetings & uploading them to YouTube.

Worked alongside a dynamic dev team to resolve real client issues, actively contributing to multiple product releases, and presenting the work during sprint reviews. Collaborated with other interns on a 6-week project to develop API endpoints facilitating user connections with an LDAP server and allowing clients to manage VPN users via a self-service wizard. Gained diverse experience across a range of products, including applications, webstores, SQL databases, and APIs. Expanded both technical and soft skills through pair-programming, challenging tickets, code reviews, asking for help, and more.
