Robotic Lunar Crater Resource Prospecting:As part of a team of six, we designed a robotic mission to the surface of the Moon with the explicit goal of determining the locations and quantities of water deposits in two lunar craters. We began by selection of two craters that were determined to be most viable from our selection criteria. We then designed our mission operations: mission timeline, launch window, orbital transfers, landing procedure, etc. We created two entirely different mission architectures that maximized data returned and then performed trade studies to determine the most effective solution.
Saturn Ring Plane Tour (SRPT) was a research project in conjunction with JPL that designed a Saturn Ring-focused Discovery class mission. The goal was to study the dynamics of Saturn's Rings with the intention of determining how and when they were formed and to learn more about the formation of our solar system. As project lead I oversaw all aspects of the project (trajectory planning, telecommunications, propulsion system design, science instrument selection, etc.) with an emphasis on systems engineering, program management, and 3D CAD design. Two different architectures that met our scientific objectives had been designed and ultimately one was down selected after trade studies were performed in order to determine the most cost effective solution that met our required data return.
T.I.T.A.N. a research project sponsored by Northrop Grumman validating Pradtl Theory on thin elliptical and trapezoidal wings:CAD models of elliptical and trapezoidal wings of various thicknesses were created in SOLIDWORKS. The deflection and stress on the test wings was determined using ANSYS Structures to ensure that thin wings would be strong enough to be used in Cal Poly Pomona's low speed wind tunnel. Wings were then 3D printed from SOLIDWORKS models and fitted to fabricated plates to increase structural rigidity. Static load tests were performed in order to validate theoretical results. Wind tunnel testing was then done to obtain data that was then plotted against theoretical data.
Cerritos, Ca
Drafted blueprints for solar panels for hundreds of homes of various sizes, typically $20,000+ projects. Used a systems engineering mindset to streamline the process from sale to drafting through installation. Worked closely with installation team to understand difficulties in installation to prevent issues in future drawings.
