Mrs. Rim Boukhchina is the Co-founder and Manager at IRIS Sustainable Consultancy, she has more than 23 years of experience in promoting energy transition strategies, policies, action plans, programs and initiatives in the Arab region and holds former leading positions in national and regional institutions.Mrs. Rim has a multidisciplinary technical and financial expertise with a solid record of accomplishments in the fields of sustainable energy, energy transition, climate change and carbon finance in Africa and the Arab Region. She managed and contributed to more than 40 research projects and studies in the sustainable energy field in collaboration with national and international organizations (Market analysis, programs design, resource assessment, feasibility studies, access to finance, projects and technologies development, socio-economic assessment, etc.) and performed more than 50 capacity development programs and events related to SE and climate change fields. Moreover, she led programs and initiatives promoting the role of women in the energy sector with focus on climate change and clean energy promotion.During her professional career, the missions accomplished covered the following: management and leading national and regional projects & programs; development of SE strategies, policies, initiatives and action plans; carrying out technical and economic feasibility and market assessment studies; program design; institutional support; economic and financial analysis, socio-economic assessment; integration of RE into the electricity grid; access to energy; energy planning and modelling; implementation of capacity development programs; etc. Furthermore, Eng. Rim Boukhchina has been deeply involved in several Euro-Mediterranean, regional and international projects and studies in the sustainable energy and climate change fields in collaboration with national and international organizations (EU, OME, UNDP, WB, IRENA, LAS, GIZ, COMELEC, AUE…) and was a speaker on a number of regional and international energy seminars on the subject: “Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Environmental issues”.Mrs. Rim started her career as energy planner and engineer in the Tunisian Utility of Electricity and Gas (STEG) and was involved in various domains related to clean technologies assessment, EE and demand side management, RE integration to the grid, and renewable energy for electricity production and sustainable development. She also participated in the design and the implementation of the Tunisian Sustainable Energy policy and strategy.
