Director for VMware Cloud at VMware EMEA.As the Chief Technologist and Technical Director for VMware Cloud, EMEA at VMware, I work alongside the EMEA General Manager for VMware Cloud, and the Sales and Marketing Directors to help the VMware Cloud business unit achieve its targets. These include specific sales targets as well as objectives relating to the strategic development and further delivery of the service across the EMEA region combining both partner led and direct routes to market.I lead a team of senior Cloud Architects whose role is to work alongside the business development teams to identify opportunities, evangelise the service, and close mutually beneficial deals. With a track record in developing and running high performance teams my focus is on recruitment, motivation, development and retention of talented individuals and ensuring they bond and collaborate as a team to enhance VMware's success in the Hybrid Cloud market.Additionally I work with the Marketing Director to drive awareness and technical enablement across the customer base in EMEA and throughout our internal field organisation. My specific personal duties include responsibilities as a company spokesperson, and public speaking engagements.I also function as EMEA VMware Cloud CTO working closely with VMware EMEA Chief Technology Officer, to drive the EMEA CTO Agenda, strategic development initiatives, and to ensure that field learnings are accounted for in the VMware Cloud roadmap prioritisation plans.

In my role as Head of function I work with the VMware Business Development and Marketing Directors to achieve company targets for the strategic alliance business units, and agree the coverage model and technical development plans for each partner. As a personal contributor I also deliver high impact keynote presentations positioning Cloud Transformation, VMware vision, and company direction with a special focus on disruption, the hybrid cloud and the Software Defined Data Centre at industry, partner and end customer events in conjunction with the EMEA CTO.I joined VMware in 2012 to take leadership of the solution architecture practice responsible for working with VMware’s strategic alliances covering cloud transformation solutions and end user computing strategy. The high performing team works at the strategic level with partner CxO and senior technical influencers to determine joint technical partnership development objectives that could include general staff enablement on VMware technologies through to joint Go To Market proposition development, in partnership with and supporting the relevant Alliance Director. The team also act as a link between the partner and VMware internal functions such as Field Sales, engineering, product development and post sales organisations.
