Designed the system from the ground up— conception through final design and development. Presented at multiple conferences including CES 2019.Key Accomplishments:*Created a networking api for Unity that allowed real time transmission of player data in VR environments.*Built a 20 by 10 foot walk around VR experience utilizing eight computers.*Developed an anchoring system that mapped virtual environments to the real world across multiple computers.*Created a system that allows for larger areas of interaction through the combination of multiple sets of hand tracking data.Project: BrightSign DemoDeveloped a pipeline and working example of Ultraleap’s technology integrated into the BrightSign system, one of the worlds largest developers of kiosk hardware. Acted as technical lead in designing experimental hardware required for the project, as well as the port of our system to ARM Linux. Created an IOT demo where users changed a Philips hue light in real time using mid-air haptics and hand tracking. This work was presented at CES 2019/DSE 2019 and directly resulted in an official partnership announcement between Ultraleap (Ultrahaptics at the time) and BrightSign.Key Accomplishments:*Technical lead for designing experimental haptic’s hardware using prototype tracking solutions.*Designed and developed a pipeline to allow for Ultraleap’s haptic system to be accessible via WebGL on ARM Linux systems.*Created a hand tracking solution from point cloud data generated by the experimental hardware.*Worked directly with the customer to enable system integration.

Evaluated usage data and self report measures in R, and conducted a thematic analysis of debriefing interviews.DynamicDuo (Co-Presenter Agent):Designed a co-presentation system to help inexperienced presenters deliver their presentations in front of an audience.Evaluated system against traditional presentation technology to explore its impact on user’s anxiety and acceptance of the technology by both users and external judges.AlwaysOn:Investigated and developed a social support agent for isolated older adults. Conducted multiple studies evaluating user requirements, feature feasibility, and agent acceptance. Led a final month-long evaluation study assessing the impact of embodiment on agent acceptance using virtual and robot based variants of the system.Virtual Laboratory:Designed a study to investigate the effects of dialogue phrasing based on user mood.Evaluated as part of a longitudinal health behavior change intervention. Designed and conducted a month-long research study investigating the effects of mood using linear models of their emotional state over time.
