These functions include• Perform routine data entry of customer sample submissions into our Laboratory Information System (LIMs)• Assist with manual handling and logistics for the purchasing and procurement of laboratory supplies.• Working in the test processing areas, to receive, prepare and carry out accurate microbiological analysis of food, dairy, meat and environmental samples as required by our customers and accreditation bodies.• Interpreting customer analytical requests correctly and in an efficient manner.• Laboratory work practices and requirements within each section of the laboratory.• Adhere to all relevant laboratory technical and operating procedures pertinent to specific areas.• Compliance with the ISO17025 standard at all times by adhering to the in-house quality procedures provided.• Complete all documentation on time, accurately and legibly.• Keep training up to date and initiate training where possible when able to do so. • Adhere to all company standards in the area of safety, housekeeping and quality, notifying a Laboratory Manager.• Ensure that the laboratory work area is stocked with necessary consumables, reagents, etc., at the start of the day. • Housekeeping of laboratory is maintained and clutter-free; clean laboratory equipment as required, including fridges, incubators, water baths, biohazards, waste disposal, etc.• Provide cover for other members of staff as required..
