I created the Forthic programming language so I could scale my productivity up and build custom tools that TPMs really need to do their jobs well. At LinkedIn, I’ve built over 800 custom tools in Forthic (and counting) that integrate Jira, Confluence, gsheets, emails, and LDAP data to do things like roll Jira tickets up by manager, construct weekly status reports, create/update gsheets, send weekly status reports, automate email campaigns that target managers whose staff need to finish their Jira tickets.I’ve started teaching TPMs and managers how to use Forthic to tweak their custom tools and to automate recurring, manual work. I’d like to focus on doing that more because I’ve found that this has the biggest impact on an org. Improving the productivity and effectiveness of TPMs improves the productivity and effectiveness of the company.I was a manager earlier in my career, but the more I managed, the harder it was for me to code, so I stopped doing that.I also have a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania that focused on Operations Research. I haven’t been able to apply it to anything yet, but I keep trying :-)
