Great branding is creativity (intuition, talent, practice, art), physical science (research, observation, insight, analysis) and social science (behavior, relationships, culture, communication). As a creative director, my experience has been the development of award-winning campaigns and brand identities for over 500 brands, with recognition from the U.S. Library of Congress, Grammy Awards and 30 other organizations.Whether guiding the expansion of the Star Wars franchise for George Lucas or helping craft a unique identity for Steven Spielberg’s campaigns, I strive to create big ideas that extend the feeling of first-time experiences, leave you wanting more, and that put their stamp on the world. As a creative strategist, I’ve overseen the brand and creative development of campaigns for the Olympic Games, Microsoft, Ford, Disney, Sony, Max Factor, Nestlé, American Cancer Society, Amgen, Agilent, Princess Cruises, American Heart Association, Ford Foundation, City National Bank and more. As a professor, I’ve touched the lives of students at UCLA, USC and CA State Universities. Courses have included E-commerce Marketing, Branding, Marketing Research, Media & Communication, Color Theory, Advanced Design, and others. As a technologist, I’ve been at the forefront of blending computer science with the creative process. My firm was one of the first users of Mac computers and we were large scale contributors as beta testers helping pioneer Apple software. Now, we embrace AI, data science, human-computer interaction, cybersecurity, and more. I currently guide clients on how branding and marketing can shape the way people feel about brands, products and services.
