Retail Logistics Team Leader
CurrentThis complex and ever-changing role, simply put, encompasses the responsibilities of coordinating teams to complete the logistical elements required to run public catering operations for every public event at the venue.Primarily as team leader of Public Catering Logistics, as well as experience working in fast-paced kiosks and bars, I’ve gained valuable knowledge and insights about the many components required to organise different types of events. My interaction with different levels of management, with clients and customers during shows has been the catalyst for my exploration of the different roles in the events industry.Facets of my Public Catering Logistics role include: - Receiving, distributing and managing the storage of stock - Liaising with managers and clients to set up, power and operate the department's unique food & beverage outlets - Moving and setting up heavy furniture - Regularly working shifts 8-10 hours in length, including on weekends & public holidaysI have also worked in a number of other roles at MCEC: - Kiosk attendant - preparing, cooking and serving menu items during public events - Licensed outlet attendant - serving patrons alcohol in line with RSA guidelines and using POS systems to process payments - Customer service attendant - providing information to MCEC visitors pertinent to each event and conference on at that time - Conducting monthly stocktake for the Retail department, which includes thorough data entry
