Responsible for the design and development of the 2015 and 2016 ERS system components (MGUK, MGUH and PE module and battery) covering all aspects of Mechanical, Thermal and integration

•Deputising for Principal Engineer through drawing authorisation, job prioritisation and co-ordination of team members in his absence.•Supervision of a small team of engineers to design a single cylinder research engine. •Supervision of engineers through various key design projects for major upgrades to racing engines.•Initial concept and detail design work for all areas of the engine•Engine fault rectification and root cause analysis to provide engineering solutions for reliability problems.•Liaison with customer teams to provide engine packaging CAD model and engine installation details. •Car water system and oil radiator testing. Design of rig components for water and oil system testing.•Mechanical durability testing of valve train components, water pumps, oil pump and scavenge pumps to include rig design, test specification and supervision

Working within an R&D team devising innovative aircraft structures for next generation fighter jets. This was achieved using both metallic and non-metallic materials to create advanced aircraft structures. I have experience of design and manufacture using Super Plastic Forming / Diffusion Bonding techniques and carbon composites. Experience of working with engineers across various disciplines and co-ordinating deign projects

Technical Apprentice training within the design office. As part of the training I was working on various projects, which included both technical and commercial aspects of the design office to gain experience of the running of the department

Craft Apprentice within the machine shop. During the first year a broad-based training was received which covered such skills as: - Fitting, Milling, Turning, Electrical, Grinding, and Woodworking. During the second year specialised training as a turner was completed to become a qualified turner. The third year was spent in the wind tunnel model shop building on the previously taught skills and gaining experience as a toolmaker manufacturing wind tunnel models.
