Achievements: Achieved PCI compliance for the first time for a number of business units and moving vending acquiring business from Elavon to WorldPay to deliver cost savings. Improved the annual insurance renewal process and changed insurance underwriters for a number of insurance categories to achieve cost savings and improved the level of cover.  Completed the acquisition of 3 new European businesses, opening new bank accounts, funding and paying for the acquisitions and then supporting post-acquisition transformations and integrations.  Upgraded Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2018 and introduced a process for more regular upgrades. Relaunched Blackline reconciliation software, focusing on process automation to optimise the solution to drive efficiencies, strengthen controls and reporting through dashboards. Led a number of finance transaction teams including Accounts Payable and Client Accounts as well as Finance Transformation and Process & Controls teams. Combining coaching with clear objectives and leadership to drive team engagement of 35 team members including 7 direct reports.  Delivery of finance process and internal controls transformation, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of finance systems, processes and controls.

Achievements: Ownership of the monthly and quarterly accounting close process for Starbucks EMEA region, producing a suite of monthly management and Board reports. Responsible for both US GAAP and local statutory reporting standards ensuring accurate and timely reporting in compliance with all financial reporting, corporate governance and statutory requirements as well as Starbucks accounting policies. Project managed the Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management software upgrades, increasing automation, functionality and driving month end close acceleration together with enhanced reporting. Managed multiple direct team members over multiple sites.

Achievements: Managed accurate and robust cashflow model by business unit during the Covid pandemic, working with key partners to maximise cash generation and closely manage cash outflow by arranging deferred payments to ensure the Company remained solvent and operated within its borrowing facilities. Responsible for banking relationship during the crisis, monitoring of covenants and delivery of financial measures to increase headroom.  Completed the Bank refinancing, reducing the cost and complexity.  Executed due diligence and the acquisition accounting of a competitor brand business including recognition of intangible assets, management of the earn-out as well as the subsequent back office and finance integration.  Led and successfully negotiated a highly complex £20 million insurance claim following a flood at one of the factories, which resulted in business interruption and significant damage to assets. Led the preparation of the glossy Annual Report & Accounts and interim statutory accounts, including the Preliminary announcement and Analyst Presentation under IFRS together with overall management of the Company’s investor relations activities.  Managed the annual audit and reporting process, ensuring all statutory reporting deadlines are achieved. Responsible for the preparation of papers for the Audit Committee. Own the relationship with external accounting, tax, banks, analysts, pension trustees and other professional advisors.

Achievements: Executed the acquisition accounting of three new business combinations as part of the Group's focus to differentiate and diversify and ultimately increase revenue. Calculated the fair value of the contingent consideration as part of the business combinations and remeasured these at the year end and ensured correct disclosure. Completed the extensive impairment testing of goodwill and other indefinite life intangible assets in light of difficult market and trading conditions and managed to significantly reduce the fair value of assets written off.

 Led the transition of the Group’s accounting & reporting processes to the outsourced shared services partner which generated cost savings.  Liquidated several legal entities within the Group reducing administrative burdens, accounts preparation and audit costs.

Achievements: Revised key complex accounting policies (Revenue recognition, stock valuation & provisioning), analysed the impact of proposed changes, communicated the revisions and worked with local businesses to adopt them. Worked with SOX process owners to ensure process documentation is current and standardised across locations including quarterly reviews and annual testing of controls.  Global SOX compliance with zero exceptions or deficiencies being reported, ensured key controls were in place and operated effectively.

Achievements: Led the acquisition accounting of the remaining 50% of Tesco Personal Finance from the Royal Bank of Scotland. Manage the valuation of the intangible assets and the fair value of assets/liabilities acquired. Drafted and implemented Tesco’s new financial services accounting policies. Provided technical accounting advice and decision-making support to the UK and International businesses, under both IFRS and UK GAAP.

Achievements: Managed month end analysis packs, provision of information and recommendations on financial performance and key performance indicators to CFO and senior management to enable them to make operational and strategic decisions. Contributed to the implementation of Cognos web based planning tool to replace Excel planning models, reducing planning time and increasing value add activities and analysis.

Achievements: Reengineered month end reporting closure to improve reporting cycle from 10 days to 4 days. Executed the Oracle general ledger month end close reporting process ensuring that financial reporting to the US is accurate, timely, complete and compliant.
