Rishav Jain is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Design, CEPT University. He has also served as a Research Expert with the Design Innovation and Craft Resource Centre (DICRC) in Ahmedabad, India, where he has led projects on craft design innovation, education and training and has also developed various training frameworks and models in collaboration with other team members. He has presented papers at national and international platforms, led international design and research projects, curated exhibitions and publications, and conducted training sessions, seminars, and workshops. At CEPT, he has also been instrumental in developing the visual language for all exhibitions.With over ten years of academic experience, he has spearheaded numerous curriculum development initiatives and led educational programs. Deeply interested in 21st-century design education, he conducts faculty and curriculum development workshops across various institutions. He focuses on developing new models of teaching pedagogies and experimenting with various frameworks for teaching new design studios and courses. His research and writings explore the idea of craft beyond traditions and objects, delving into a contemporary perspective on Building Crafts in India. He has authored "Craft in Interior Architecture: India, 1990 onwards" and co-authored "Catalogue of Vernacular Furniture: Punjab, Catalogue of Vernacular Furniture: Haryana".Rishav Jain is a recipient of the Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT) and Simon Digby Charitable Trust (SDMC) Research Fellowship, as well as the American Craft Council Scholarship. He has been awarded gold medals from CEPT University and GNDU for his research and academic excellence. He holds a Masters in Interior Architecture and Design with a specialization in Crafts and Technology from CEPT University, India.
