This area oversees Application management and support for over 200 Business applications spanning all of Councils Divisions (all Divisions of the Council (City Planning and Sustainability, Brisbane Infrastructure, City Administration and Governance, Lifestyle and Community Services, Transport). My role has been instrumental in addressing two key challenges. Firstly, establishing clear and repeatable Application Service Models, resolving ambiguity surrounding the scope and provision of Application services. This framework streamlined operations, ensuring consistency, meeting customer expectations, and optimizing resources. Introducing a simplified yet comprehensive approach, categorizing services into 'Elevated' and 'Lite', aligning each Application with its corresponding model, this innovative initiative mitigated business risks, previously associated with service disruptions and unforeseen costs.Secondly this role is responsible for helping optimize the utilization of the council's multimillion-dollar annual budget allocated for ICT maintenance and strategic initiatives. These initiatives encompass a wide spectrum of areas, including Infrastructure and Software Applications. Recognizing the absence of a structured approach and framework for prioritizing and allocating funds, I embarked on creating a Risk-based Demand Prioritization model. This ground-up initiative, after gaining senior management's endorsement, became a cornerstone of our annual program.
