Ambarish (Rish) Manepalli is an award-winning Los Angeles based director, producer, and editor. He focuses on storytelling, finding emotions, and reaching audiences. He loves problem-solving, working with teams, and great food. The work he has created has reached a wide audience with hundreds of millions of views on social media as well as broadcast. Rish was born in India and spent most of his professional life in Los Angeles, New York and Paris. Rish attended Columbia University and studied theater and film, earning his BA and MFA. His thesis film, A WINK OF THE EYE, co-written by Christopher T. VanDijk and produced by Geoffrey Quan (OBVIOUS CHILD, PROJECT NIM), premiered at the 2010 Palm Springs International Shortfest. It has garnered numerous awards. In 2008, Rish was selected as a visiting director at La fémis, France’s prestigious national film school, and worked with French writers and film professionals. He spent 5 years in France where he worked as a writer, director, and editor. He is fluent in French. In 2012, with his writing partner, Christopher VanDijk, Rish won the Cape New Writer’s Award for the feature Screenplay - Cowboys Versus Indians which was also selected twice to participate in IFP Independent Film Week. His web series Qui Conduit? which was selected in competition for the French fiction television festival at La Rochelle. Qui Conduit? was funded by Orange and the CNC (Centre National du Cinéma...) the National French Cinema foundation to fund and recognize excellent work.
