Risto Virtanen Email and Phone Number
I'm an automation professional with extensive international experience. I've been working both for automation integrators and as an in-house engineer in an aerospace production plant. Therefore I'm familiar with machine acquisition projects both as a customer and a supplier. My primary occupation has been robot programming but I have a very holistic approach to engineering. My way of working is thorough and precise. I delve into the theoretical background of the phenomenon in question and solve the challenges in a logical and organized way. Training people has been part of my job in all my positions. I have trained both operators and programmers and I have good communication skills. I'm constantly challenging myself and today I'm better at my work than ever.I consider offline programming of ABB robots as my most valuable competence.I've used ABB RobotStudio offline programming and simulation software and it's predecessors for 20+ years. I'm capable of creating complete, functional, virtual stations which may be used for robot program testing and visual presentations.I know the ABB Rapid programming language inside out and my programs are compact, well structured and easy to maintain. My particular interest is solving complex geometric problems.I'm a skilled SolidWorks 3D modeler.I have used 3D printing to make machine parts and prototypes for the automation cells I've been working with. I have also trained people to improve their models to be more durable, easy to print and more material efficient. All production problems cannot be solved by software alone. In these cases I have also designed machine parts and manufactured them. I can use tools and machines in a metal and wood workshop.I have a basic understanding of the electrical and pneumatic components and subsystems of automation cells and can troubleshoot them. Some of the projects 1999 - 2023:Jet Engine Component Thermal Spraying (NO/CH)Jet Engine Component Grit Blasting (NO/FRA)Jet Engine Component Shot Peening (NO/US)Jet Engine Component X-ray (NO/DK)Jet Engine Vane Welding (NO)Jet Engine Vane and Case Deburring (NO/FIN)Mold and Plug Making for Marine Industry (US, 2 x FIN, 2 x SWE)Cutting of Steel Profiles with Plasma (FIN)Drilling and Milling of Plastic Enclosures (FIN)Drilling and Milling of Composite Parts (UK)Sanding of Cast Plastic Sinks and Bathtubs (FIN)Car and Bus Windshield Handling and Cleaning (FIN)Mold Manufacturing in Foundry (FIN)Packing Solutions in Food Industry (SWE, 3 x FIN)ABB RobotStudio | ABB Rapid | Robot programming | Training | SolidWorks
