Risto Agur is the head of Sorainen Estonia office Restructuring and Insolvency team. He has been working for Sorainen since 2000, playing a key role in leading the firm's pan-Baltic Corporate Advisory practice group.Risto has extensive knowledge and experience in the following areas of law: corporate governance, corporate finance (including takeovers and M&A) and corporate reorganizations. His finance law experience includes advising local and international financial institutions in a number of high-worth finance cases involving securities offerings of commercial papers and bonds; debt and equity financing; pledge of different types of property (railcars, securities, accounts, claims) as ordinary pledge as well as financial collateral, enforcement of rights over different types of property; subordination of creditors and security sharing arrangements, setting up and restructuring banks, insurance and investment companies.Risto's knowledge and experience in the field of restructuring and insolvency includes restructuring companies in financial distress through out of court transactions as well as court procedures, representing secured and unsecured creditors in restructuring loan facilities, enforcement of securities, investigating, pursuing and defending claims for and against insolvent companies, planning and carrying out restructuring plans (including as a pre-packaged plan), preference and avoidance actions, acquiring assets from restructuring and bankruptcy estates and exit financings. He has advised clients on debt collection measures in and out of court (incl. realization of sureties and guarantees, enforcement of the lessor's pledge over third party property as well as enforcement of maritime liens and claims).
