Rita Cox is a prominent public relations and marketing communications counselor, with more than 30 years of experience in communications. She was co-architect and principal in creating, building and managing one of the Southwest’s largest and most successful public relations and promotions firms-Pharr-Cox and then Cox & Company, a division of The Richards Group, an internationally recognized advertising agency. Prior to her agency experience, Cox was a staff member of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce and of a non-profit organization in Dallas.Cox has broad experience in national, regional and local client programs focused on planning, media relations, community relations, public affairs, promotional campaigns and special events. She has worked in the retail, travel, consumer products/packaged goods, healthcare, restaurant, financial services and technology industries.A journalism graduate of Southern Methodist University, Cox has been active in professional and community affairs. She was national vice president and Dallas Professional Chapter president of Women in Communications, Inc., and is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America. Cox served as an executive board member of the Tejas Council of Girl Scouts and president of both Friends of Fair Park and Preservation Dallas. She was a director of the World Cup Dallas 1994, is a member of the Dallas Assembly and former president of Friends of Fair Park and the Women’s Center of Dallas.
