About Rita D.
I practised as a solicitor from 1991 - 2001 and have worked in higher education since 2001. I am a published author and legal education trainer having provided legal training to lawyers and police officers. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy as well as a former External Examiner for the Solicitors' Regulation Authority. I am also co-founder and former legal editor of the legal information website CompactLaw (1996 - 2016). I have served as a member of the Law Society's Digital Education Task Force Committee as well as a being a current member of the Society of Legal Scholars Library Committee providing guidance and standards for law schools and librarians. I also sit on the editorial board of the Medical Law International Journal and am the series editor for a range of SQE textbooks. My teaching specialist subjects are criminal law and litigation, civil law and litigation, the law of evidence, medical law, tort and advocacy.
