About Rita Esperanza Flores

I am a mom, community builder, and long-time anti-violence advocate. My experiences as a survivor fuel my passion for this work. With over 25 years of experience, I’ve led emergency shelter and transitional housing programs for survivors of gender-based violence in Arizona and California and provided technical assistance and training to local, state, and national coalitions. Throughout my journey, I’ve always valued depth over breadth, focusing on creating meaningful, survivor-centered work that leads to transformative change.I’ve had the privilege of participating in leadership cohorts like Non-Profit Quarterly's Voice Lab, Agents of Change, and the New Philanthropists' Board Mentors of Color Program -- all dedicated to supporting leaders of color in the nonprofit sector. My work is rooted in a commitment to activating collective power for social change. I believe in the strength of partnerships, intentional processes, and a deep dedication to advancing anti-racist, community-centered leadership. As an independent consultant with Collective Capacity Consulting, I bring big ideas into focus and help organizations align their vision with action. Specialties: Non-profit Management, Organizational Development, Leadership Development, Facilitation, Training, Curriculum Development, Workshop Design, Program Development/Management/Evaluation, and Event Planning/Coordination, Board Development, Roller Skating
