Responsibilities include; issuing permits, processing accounts receivables, responsible for entering information into the Database for Administering Changes to the Secondary System (DACHS) after all inspections were acceptable. This system is for adding, abandoning or discontinuing roads within the road network of VDOT. I work closely with the local government agency to accomplish this. I review plans for utility projects, commercial projects and entrances. Inspection of roads to ensure quality construction through on-site inspections and testing of materials while ensuring a safe work environment for workers and the general public. I was responsible for properly documenting activities for compliance with Contract Documents, Plans, VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications and Standards, overseeing Inspectors for Five Contracts on an overlay project and managing time. Work Experience: Independently coordinated, scheduled, and inspected all phases of work on routine and complex projects and advises contractor, superintendent, or other representatives of necessary action to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, and contracts. Inspects a variety of projects to include grading, paving, demolitions, special design bridge, signal, signing, and other special projects as assigned. Recommends changes to construction plans to meet field conditions; make field measurements of pay items and conducts materials testing; verifies lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using srvey and field engineering equipment. Maintains and reviews comprehensive project records including daily dairies, materials notebooks, as-built plans, pay quantity records, progress schedules, work orders, and monthly estimates.
