Haiti

During this period, strategic, programmatic and operational support has been provided to manage a unit of over USD 40 million per year and Human Resources of over 120 staff members (National and International). • Responsible for the management of the poverty reduction unit, including the coordination and oversight of the programmatic, M&E and operation sections; coordination of the implementation of 12 projects in the unit to ensure the timely delivery of quality results, and achieving the financial and programmatic targets.• Supported the development of UNDP transition from emergency to development in close collaboration with UNDP and the United Nations Stabilization Mission (MINUSTAH) senior management; Conducted in-depth programmatic and performance analysis, identifying and managing risks including initiating actions in consultations with UNDP senior management and other units.• Supported the development of the UNDP Poverty Reduction, Social and Economic Inclusion, Social Cohesion, Private Sector, Gender Equality and SDGs strategies.• Supported building strategic partnerships and alliances including maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders.⎫ Main results: Supported the elaboration of three Public Policies; supported the creation of 450,000 short-term employments, supported the closure of 50 Internal Displaced People (IDPs) camps, supported 900 SMEs (80% women), supported the creation of 640 micro-enterprises (100% women)

Port Au Prince, Haiti

Supported the coordination and management of a 17 million USD Joint Programme, with 17 staff members, funded by the Haiti Reconstruction Fund to remove, manage and recycle rubbles caused by the 2010 earthquake. • Formulated and developed 10 infrastructure projects using recycled debris. • Ensured the financial and substantive monitoring and evaluation of the project, identifying operational and financial problems, and developing solutions. • Supported the production and systematization of Lessons Learned and Best Practices of the Programme.

Dominican Republic

.• From January 2010 to March 2010 I worked as Special Assistant to the Humanitarian Coordinator in order to guarantee an effective humanitarian response from the Dominican Republic to Haiti for all the victims of the earthquake. - Supported the Resident Representative and the Deputy Resident Representative in annual strategic planning; - Coordinated the UNDAF and CPAP process in the capacity of UNDP focal point;- Supported senior management ensuring the coordination of 36 projects (DIM and NIM) and 72 staff for a delivery totalling USD 18 millions; - Created a unit of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) using corporate tools for results-based management and trained 72 staff in the M&E of corporate policies; - Coordinated three Result Oriented Annual Report (ROAR) processes; - Supported the Country Programme by ensuring quality control of the Project Document, Annual Work Plans and Reports; - Supported the production and systematization of Lessons Learned and Best Practices; - Produced documents for use by senior management in decision making; - Created the evaluation plan of the Country Office, prepared Terms of References; Ensured the follow up of the evaluation plan.

Development and implementation of the “Young Millennium Campaign Strategy” for the Dominican Republic. Successful MDGs advocacy promoted through different activities in close cooperation with national partners and actors. Responsibility for the creation of strong and stable alliance with UN agencies, local government, private sector and other relevant actors in the Dominican Republic. Creation of strong partnerships with key media and communication entities to maximize the profile and the visibility of the MDGs. Establishment of a fund raising strategy, especially through the decentralized Spanish cooperation.

Development and implementation of a forestation project as a means of lessening the problems experienced by adolescents working in mines. Collection of data on water projects and water related illnesses and creation of a new method to evaluate the water projects feasibility in developing countries. The new method was the main topic of my thesis which was recognized as being the most innovative thesis of the year.
