I am currently a PhD student researching the Horse Human Bond. I have a background in Equine Science (BSc) Animal Science (MSc) and Animal Behaviour and Welfare (MSc). I have taken part in a wide range of Equine employment / activities over the years from horse training, low level competition, breeding, as a riding coach, stud work and equine education. Having seen a gap in new horse owner knowledge I created and ran courses for new horses owners for many years focusing on horse behaviour, welfare, care and the Horse Human Bond. I was involved in setting up and providing an Equine Assisted Learning course for a charity before deciding to return to academia in 2019. My current research focuses on practitioner perspectives in EAS.
