I am highly skill professional nurse able to apply myself to new working environments. I enjoy teaching patients and staff and find this can be two ways to exchange of ideas, which assists my development. During my time as part of the diabetes team I did BERTIE on-line training to develop my skills in Carbohidrate counting to assist people with type I diabetes to manage the diabetes more effectively. One of the new developments in diabetes was the Flash Monitoring Device called the libre sensor and I took part in the on-line education for healthcare professional to enhance my skills in this area. I have particularly enjoyed the patient education during the Annual Review assessment that I have been encouraged to develop. I have also taken on the training of new members of staff who have been employed by GHA for the diabetes service. During the Covid period I undertook patient and staff vaccinations to ensure the speedy vaccination of residents of Gibraltar. I have also undertaken work in the clinical area in the PCC to take bloods, monitoring ECG and delivering Vitamin B12. I have also assisted in the flu program. During the Covid lockdown period I worked with the District Nursing team.I have good skills whichgy are necessary now for nurses as mean of communication and maintaining patient records.I am a instructor of Chikung (similar to Tai Chi) in Spain I give classes but I also do on-line classes for people in Portugal. I develop people skills and assess their abilities offering support when appliable. In my spare time I enjoy reading, walking, swimming and being with my family and friends, it is very important for me.
