Rita Vasquez, is a young professional student studying at Madonna University in Livonia Michigan. She was born and raised in the Detroit-Metro area, by her aunt. She received her first Bachelors (B.S.) in Nutrition and Food Science from Wayne State University in 2014 and is now undergoing coursework at Madonna University for didactic coursework in Dietetics. She plans on applying for her Masters in Public Health. Rita hopes to complete her masters degree in Public Health to study how the availability of fresh produce and health products is associated with equality of food justice. In addition to her academic aspirations, she spends her time reading nutrition-related information, gardening, and cooking. In the future, Rita aims to promote awareness on food choices, produce availability, and food justice.
