Proudly serving the students of the MISD, offering quality reimbursable meals under the National School Lunch Program and National School Breakfast Program. Manage a team of 300 and communicate a clear vision and expectations aligned with the District's Mission, Vision, and Values. Transitioned a heat-and-serve operation to a full-service operation by introducing scratch and speed scratch recipes to our menu. Achieved all three assigned department goals for the 2016-17 school year including meal participation, food cost to revenue ratio, and meals per labor hour. Served over 5,000,000 meals and meal equivalents two years in a row and successfully increasing lunch participation by 18% and breakfast by 22% on only a 4% enrollment increase (and 5 fewer serving days!) Implemented promotions for students including a try-something-new program and several participation contests. Celebrated events and holidays in the lunch room to bring meal periods alive for students. Boosted employee morale by investing in specialized kitchen positions and professional uniforms, heightened training programs, and issued iPads for managers.

• Maintain and manage a $5.1 million budget.• Increased a la carte sales by 200% from when I arrived to present average daily sales.• Increased reimbursable meals by 10% by investing in quality ingredients to attract business and by implementing contests and promotions for both the kitchen teams and the students.• Completed and led the team to a successful CRE Audit in school year 2013-14 with zero financial findings.• Piloted the new Federal Administrative Review (one of five districts in Texas) and received special recognition from TDA.• Responsible for managing, motivating, training, & supporting the Assistant Food Service Director, Free & Reduced Specialist, Food Service supervisors, and 120 hourly employees.• Responsible for successful operations and menu planning for 14 campus kitchens; plus satellite service to the district daycare, the alternative campus, and various catering events.• Assisted P.E. teachers across the district to write & submit Fuel Up to Play 60 grant applications –all of which were funded.• Ensures compliance with government standards, regulations, & codes regarding food storage, prep, and sanitation.
