After 8 months of hard work and personal growth at Sonder's National Department, I was invited to be part of the International Department at Sonder. Besides talking to all the amazing Portuguese Sonders that made me fall in love with my job on a daily basis, I had the chance to meet all the International talents that visited Sonder, from Erasmus students to actual residents in Portugal. It was a great opportunity to practice the languages I know and to meet amazing people from all over the world. Humans with stories I haven't heard before and characteristics I haven't seen before as well, which was my favourite part of being responsible for all of them. They made me want to travel and wander even more, and that is a beautiful feeling. My path at Sonder was extremely rewarding and this was the cherry on top of the beginning of my 2017. I also have to mention that being responsible for the International Department was a great way to come across realities absolutely different than mine and it really made me feel like, even though we are all different, we are all born free and should be living life to the fullest. No matter which country we are from.

My job at Sonder People was just the best! Everyday I got to talk to different people, with different stories and backgrounds, which was the thing that I loved the most about my job. Everyday I had the chance to learn something new. At Sonder's office at LX Factory, I presented our concept to the people that did a first visit to the agency and wanted to be enrolled in it, and I also registered the ones that end up being part of Sonder. Every single person is very important to me and I believe everyone is unique and can make a great impact in our world. I also tried to help the other departments as much as possible. I loved to go to events in which we are working, approach people and explain how we worked. I was also very attentive everywhere I went so I could scout new people which I believed could make great Sonders! Basically what drives me the most are people and, for me, everyone is valuable. Talking is my best asset and I tried to make the most of it! Let me just say that I was also very lucky to be part of an incredible team, full of creative people, with which I could exchange experiences and opinions. Listening is as important as talking. In the end, I tried to improve and overcome myself everyday and Sonder was the best place to do it!

As the name speaks for itself, I planned, produced and managed events for small groups that wanted to visit and get to know Portugal, and have a unique experience. That’s what exclusive by tlc is about: uniqueness. And that’s what has driven me the most. Every day I got to practice all the languages I know, which, for me, is essential. Practice makes perfect. I did proposals, budgets and running orders for exclusive clients’ stays in Portugal, and made sure they wouldn't forget their Portuguese experience so easily. I’m very passionate about my country and all it has to offer! Personally my favorite part was getting to know the client and its basic needs, find hotels, choose restaurants and places to visit. Every client was different, and I wanted to make sure that what I offered was up to the clients’ expectations. Working for exclusive by tlc was an amazing experience, where I got to learn from the pros in events in Portugal. I grew up and learnt a lot, for sure!

Throughout the period I worked for Keep it Real, I learnt a lot. I was a Community Manager for Portuguese celebrities and TV shows. I managed various Facebook pages for TV personalities and for shows owned by Shine Iberia Group, such as MasterChef and Portugal em Festa. Besides, I had the pleasure to produce the event Little Style, a market for kids and moms, where I got to accompany the entire event production process, on and off-site. This company gave me the opportunity to travel a lot inside Portugal, which is one of my favourite things to do. Our country as so much to offer and I had the chance to experience a lot of Portugal best: foods, hospitality and local festivals.

This was my second internship at Impresa Publishing, and this time was at the events department called Acting Out. The biggest assignment during the six months I was there was helping with the organization of the XIX Gala dos Globos de Ouro, the Portuguese Golden Globes. I learnt a lot from my colleagues and superiors because I was interacting with them on a daily basis. And, since my organizational skills and competences include a proactive personality, a high capacity for project management and quick action regarding problem solving, I had the opportunity to be part of the organization of other events like conferences and social parties. My internship also showed made me that I was born to communicate, to be a true leader, to be active in the field, rather than just sitting in front of a desk.

I interviewed a lot of interesting people and it was amazing to see my name on a national publication on a weekly basis. My favorite assignment was to interview a lot of Fashion Designers and Models at Lisbon Fashion Week in October 2012, which was my last job of the internship.
