Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) is one of many animal welfare organizations shifting its priorities from the control and warehousing of pets without people, and adopting a “prevention services” model that promotes foster, adoption, and relationship continuity through a host of human-animal support services (HASS). As Community Services Manager, I am currently leading the launch of our new “Healthy Pets Healthy People” program. My main goal is to keep people and their pets together, healthy, and without judgement, through a host of community services such as low-cost and/or free community support services, increased efficiency in reuniting lost pets with their people, emergency preparation and planning, and access to low-cost or free veterinary and behavior resources.

The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI), is a multi-disciplinary technical society with more than 3,000 U.S. and international members dedicated to reducing earthquake risk by (1) advancing the science and practice of earthquake engineering, (2) improving understanding of the impacts of earthquakes on the physical, social, economic, political, and cultural environment, and (3) advocating comprehensive and realistic measures for reducing the harmful effects of earthquakes. My role involves creating, managing, editing, and curating all web content and digital communications to 3,000+ members through a bi-weekly digital newsletter, bi-annual print magazine, media outreach, website, and email program. I also oversee database management and conference website content. Successes in 2016-2017 include rolling out a new, contemporary newsletter design; introducing fresh, new branding; and updating reporting tools.

I author, coordinate, manage, edit, analyze and report customer facing marketing collateral such as press releases, blog posts, brochures, newsletter articles, case studies, white papers, business reports, website copy, application notes, and general product collateral.
