I am currently employed by Capita Software Services as a member of the Capita Housing development. As the 2nd largest software house in the United Kingdom, we deliver market leading housing management software.We have a mixture of legacy technology and modern comprising mostly of Actian OpenROAD and Ingres, Oracle MySQL, Microsoft SQL server and .NET frameworks (C#, VB, ASP) as well as traditional C and C++. I have spent the majority of the past seven years using the .net framework in C# and VB flavours. We have transitioned to using a more Agile methodology for most projects but still use waterfall in places for more ad-hoc urgent projects. I also have produced hardware (and subsequent firmware) as well as software for proof of concepts for new product avenues in my current role.I am an enthusiastic .net developer with many other languages and skills to hand. I am comfortable with DevOps, CI and CD systems as I have both supported and created them. I wish to forge my skills with newer paradigms such as MVC to help my career along to my goal of Technical Architect.
