I currently work with public and private sponsors and peer academic institutions to review, negotiate, and execute various legal agreements, and provide research administration and compliance support to HMS departments and Principal Investigators throughout the lifecycle of their research projects. Additionally, I manage the outgoing subawards business process at HMS, build capacity for the school to handle administratively complex awards, and help develop internal policy and guidance. Lastly, I co-chair the FDP Subawards Subcommittee, which develops templates and guidance for universities to exchange subcontracts in compliance with federal regulations.

Here I served as a liaison between a Geneva-based intergovernmental organization with 9,000 employees worldwide and other multilateral bodies, diplomatic missions, and NGOs at the United Nations Headquarters. In this role I developed the acumen needed to represent a major organization to external entities, often concerning politically sensitive subject matter, through a variety of communication channels and in a variety of fast-paced settings.• Represented IOM’s Headquarters and dozens of regional and field offices to external audiences across the UN.• Coordinated directly with numerous departments and divisions in IOM, often remotely and across time zones. • Served as IOM’s focal point for roughly $24m in funding from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) over the course of 9 months.• Assisted in project life cycles for 35 CERF-funded projects in 18 countries (proposal, review, submission, funding, reporting).• Cultivated networks and partnerships with external entities to bolster IOM’s mission and advocacy efforts.• Monitored and reported on real-time geopolitical and policy developments impacting IOM’s global operations.• Helped plan and execute events involving senior leadership from IOM, the UN, and diplomatic missions.• Gathered data, compiled talking points, and drafted background notes and letters for IOM’s senior leadership.• Provided oral and written input on behalf of IOM to official documents, briefs, and proceedings at the UN.• Conveyed IOM’s official positions and operational data to governments, NGOs, and other partners at the UN.• Helped respond to government and media inquiries pertaining to the [2015-] migration emergency in the greater Mediterranean/North African/Levant region. • Worked as an intern in the office for three months prior to full-time employment. Generated and distributed reports on UN meetings (Security Council, General Assembly, and Economic & Social Council). Attended inter-agency meetings of concern to IOM. Interacted with 6 country offices while helping produce a 90-min video on IOM’s youth migration programming. Worked with 22 IOM field offices while drafting Director-level documentation on IOM’s relationship with 28 different UN Political Affairs and Peacekeeping missions. Worked at 8 preparatory events for the 2013 UN High Level Dialogue on International Migration & Development, from civil society and academic forums to ambassadorial meetings and General Assembly panels.

As a Marine Corps officer I was tasked with ensuring the welfare and professional development of assigned personnel while serving in challenging leadership billets of increasing scope and responsibility.
