As part of the Design Transformation initiative at Atkins, the services of Information Management, Design Reuse and Design Automation have been created. I lead the Information Management Service which implements the ISO19650 on marquee projects from the bid stage, mobilization and delivery stages.The following are the core activities which I undertake as the IM Service Lead.- Define the Information Management strategy for large multi-disciplinary projects across various regions, sectors and typologies.- Lead the development of workflows, tools and implementation methodologies to enable data driven decision making on projects through the use of BIM.- Collaborate with a global group of stakeholders and lead a team of BIM experts to develop 4D & 5D BIM standards and processes for the organization.- Oversee and mentor a team of 20 Information Managers in implementation of ISO19650 on projects across the stages of bid, mobilization and delivery.- Formulate a training curriculum and impart training to Information Managers through a 3 stage program comprising of self learning modules, practical activities and mentored application.- Setup and develop the Information Management team to scale up delivery of the service.

The Automation and Innovation (AI) division was formulated within Atkins to conduct research and provide leadership for enabling the process of Digital Project Delivery. I lead the Computational Design and Visualization teams within the AI division. The key responsibilities I handle are listed below.COMPUTATIONAL DESIGN- Engage clients to map requirements for automation and lead a team of developers to deliverbespoke solutions in the form of scripts and plugins for BIM platforms.- Develop automation strategies to optimize BIM project workflows for design, production andco-ordination across disciplines and domains.- Research iterative and generative design processes for multiple project typologies.- Train Architects and Engineers in visual programming platforms such as Dynamo.- Collaborate with Atkins personnel around the world to manage automation scripts library.- Research into cloud based BIM software solutions such as Forge, BIM 360 and Clarity Server.VISUALISATION- Engage clients to map requirements for virtual reality applications and lead a team of developers to create interactive applications for Desktop, Mobile and cutting edge platforms such as the HTC Vive and the Microsoft Hololens.- Supporting bids with visualisations to serve as the key differentiator for Atkins to win projects across multiple regions.- Develop streamlined workflows for migrating BIM databases onto realtime render engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine.- Design User Interfaces for visualisation applications for all hardware platforms.- Research into processes to enable cross-platform deployment of applications through cloud based solutions such as Forge and Amazon Web Services.- Strategic planning for implementing visualisation across the project lifecycle in terms of design, construction and asset management.
