About Rithvik M Shroff

In the past, I’ve created: • An Artificial Photosynthesis technology that will make carbon capture possible for everyone, at 1% of current market prices. Limpio 🧼• A smartphone case that could clean hands, prevent bacterial diseases and possibly end chemical warfare• I built and tested this project for many months at the CENSE lab at the Indian institute of science• I was featured on Forbes and won Solvey, an international social enterprise accelerator competition• Learn more here: limpio.me AI & Machine Learning 🤖• At KTH Royal Institute of Technology, I built an AI app to view chemical structures in 3D using Google’s ML algorithms • I built it just for fun; it’s now being used across the university by all chemistry studentsEmail me at rithvikspace@gmail.comExcited to hear from you!

During my tenure at the esteemed Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan in Stockholm, Sweden, I had the privilege of working on my project, Limpio, a high-frequency ultrasound technology capable of preventing bacterial infections and potentially ending chemical warfare. I was thrilled to bring my project to a new audience in such a prestigious institution.I got to meet and collaborate with a diverse array of fascinating people, including Nobel laureates and esteemed professors. In fact, one such professor of theoretical chemistry confided in me about the most unnecessarily time-consuming and frustrating part of his work: studying 2D representations of chemical compounds in publications, when what he really needed was a 3D structure. Motivated to help alleviate this issue, I took it upon myself to design and create an AI mobile app that would automatically generate a 3D structure from a 2D diagram of a chemical compound. By utilizing advanced machine learning platforms such as Google's Vision API and TensorFlow, my app streamlined the process and significantly reduced the time and effort needed to study chemical compounds in 3D.What started as a fun side project quickly gained momentum, and my app is now being used throughout the university, greatly benefiting both professors and students alike. In addition to this, I continued to push the boundaries of my Limpio project, further developing its potential to revolutionise the prevention of bacterial infections.Overall, my experience at KTH was an incredible opportunity to work with world-renowned professionals developing cutting-edge technology but more importantly to make a meaningful impact to my own project as well as to the people around me at the university.

I spent most of my teenage years (14 - 17) working at Centre for Nano Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, researching and experimenting to prove my hypothesis of using high frequency ultrasound to prevent bacterial infections in the hope of alleviating the sufferings caused by the use of the anthrax bacteria as a bio weapon during times of war. I did manage to prove my hypothesis firstly by inventing a new method of producing high frequency ultrasound with reduced limitations caused by acoustic impedance and secondly by proving that this kind of non-contact ultrasound can destroy the spores of the Anthrax bacteria. Then eventually by chance realised that this technology could be used to prevent almost all kinds of bacterial infections. My work here led to my project being funded which led to an article in Forbes which led to me getting noticed by an esteemed professor who invited me to continue my work at the Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan also known as the Royal institute of technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
